UFC 115 re-cap.

I am sure I don’t need to tell anyone that watched UFC 115 that it was the best card in a long time. The fights that night were aggressive, fast paced and the best part, they were actually fights. Their was no pussy footing around like in the Rampage/Rashad fight and everyone came to fight and that was exactly what they did. It was great to see Mirko Cro Cop back in action and he looked amazing, we were even treated to some of his seldom seen ground game. Hats off to vancouver native Rory MacDonald for putting on an amazing show and showing great class in the face of defeat. This kid is only 23 years old and is at the start of a long career. Also an honorable mention to his opponent Carlos Condit who got beat on for two straight rounds and came out in the third to secure a victory. In the main event of the night we saw an amazing Chuck Liddell, a Chuck who was in great shape, aggressive, the Chuck of old, but with one major flaw; his chin. Many years and many wars and too many knock outs have taken its toll on Chuck and he is not able to eat a shot like he used to, as we saw when he was knocked out just moments before the end of the first round. Rick Franklin who sustained a broken arm from a kick early in the first round was able to weather the storm of strikes that Chuck unleashed and caught him with a shot right on the button that put Chuck down on the canvas fro the last time in his MMA career.

Mirko Cro Cop talks about the fight and what has changed with his training.

Rick Franklin talks about the fight.

Dane White talk about UFC 115. Chuck’s end in the octagon and Mirko’s new found love of MMA.

UFC 115 in Vancouver this weekend.

This weekend marks the first time that the UFC will be in Vancouver Canada and its second stop in Canada all together. Tickets for this event sold out in the 30 minutes and clocked the fastest sellout of any UFC event ever. This UFC event I think is going to be filled with a lot of fireworks and that is something that the UFC really needs right now, a good old fashion brawl is what we can expect from the main event and the co-main event. We have Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin in the main event and Mirko Crocop vs. Patrick Barry in the co-main event and all of these guys are heavy hitting, brawling bangers. I don’t see how these fights will not live up to the hype and not result in fight of the night and or knock out of the night. Check the video below to get the goods on both main and co-main event fights and fighters.

Metal Mulisha’s Jimmy Fitzpatrick talks X-Games and the front flip.

Looks like our boy Jimmy has his sights set on the gold medal at X-Games this summer. He has been working super hard and will continue to work hard to get this trick dialed. He has cancelled all his shows until X-Games is over and will be spending his time in the foam pit practicing the front flip and from what we hear front flip combos as well. Competition is going to be steep this summer, but we think Jimmy will pull off the gold medal when all is said and done. Good luck brother.

Metal Mulisha’s Jacko Strong lands first front flip on a dirt bike.

Well Jacko Strong pulled of the first front flip on a dirt bike while on the Crusty Tour in Oz. I guess it was just a matter of time before someone was going to set this one down and now the bar has been raised once again for the sport of FMX. Amazing footage below and Summer X – Games just got a lot more interesting.

Red Bull X-Fighters Egypt.

The Great Sphinx of Giza and 10,000 fans cast a keen eye over the 12 best FMX athletes on the planet on Friday night. At the second stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 desert winds, sand and temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius pushed man and machine to the limit, with Adam Jones (USA) emerging victorious in front of one of the worlds most spectacular backdrops.
